General (520–521)

Wiring system types per tables 52.1–52.8: surface, concealed, underground.

Ampacity (523)

Ampacity by installation method (C — in wall conduit, D — in ground, E — in air), ambient temperature, grouping. Sizes per IEC 60228.

Minimum sections (524)

Power and lighting: 1.5 mm²; control circuits: 0.5 mm².

Voltage drop (525)

≤ 4% for lighting, 8% for other circuits (recommended); national codes may tighten (BS 7671: 3/5%).

Connections (526)

Accessible for inspection, mechanically sound, insulation equal to the conductors; no hidden splices without access.
