Overview

GB 50303-2015 in force since 1 August 2016, applies to building electrical installations up to 35 kV. 25 chapters + 8 annexes. Every chapter has mandatory items (主控项目) and general items (一般项目).

Chapter 3. Basic requirements

3.1 Work per approved design; only accepted equipment allowed.

3.2 Incoming inspection: CCC certificates, appearance, completeness, factory test reports.

3.3 Stage handover confirmation, including concealed works with acts.

3.4 Acceptance by divisions; quality graded qualified/unqualified.

Chapter 5. Switchboards and panels

Plumb and rigid mounting; row alignment; enclosure and door-frame earthing (bonding jumpers); contact joints; circuit and device marking; torque per annex E; IP class per room conditions.

Chapters 12–14, 17. Conduit, cables, wiring, testing

12 Conduit bending radius ≥ 6×OD (10×OD hand bending); threaded/compression joints; glands at boxes; metallic conduit earthing.

13 Cable bending radii per cable type; labeling at ends; fixing spacing for vertical runs.

14 Conduit fill ≤ 40%; splices only in boxes; phase/neutral/PE marking.

17 Insulation resistance after installation: ≥ 0.5 MΩ for LV circuits; joints by soldering/crimping/screw terminals.

Chapters 18–21. Luminaires, sockets, trial run

18 Luminaires fixed to load-bearing structures; no hanging on conductors; separate anchors above 3 kg.

20 Installation heights per design; socket earth contact to PE; no phase-neutral jumper inside socket; bathroom sockets on RCD-protected circuits.

21 Trial run of all lighting circuits — continuous operation (≥ 24 h for residential/public buildings) with current/voltage measurements.

Chapters 22–25. Earthing, lightning, bonding

22 Earth electrodes and loop, welded joints checked, earth resistance measured.

23 Earthing busbars: green-yellow marking, continuity.

24 Air terminals and down conductors: continuity tests, welded/special clamps.

25 Equipotential bonding integrity, transition resistance checks.

Practical takeaways

GB 50303-2015 is the Chinese equivalent of acceptance norms (PUE ch. 1.8 / SP 76.13330): incoming inspection, concealed works acts, 0.5 MΩ insulation test, 24 h lighting trial. The difference: strict formalization — every step documented.
